Testimonials

  • “Not only does Chelsea understand injuries from her perspective as a DPT and musculoskeletal specialist, she is fluent in the art of character development within the context of story. The clarity and direction she’s provided me in writing a believable character has been game-changing! She helped uncover a realistic injury for my character based on the plot, as well as identify ways of portraying it in an accurate way. She described bruising, swelling, scrapes, and other symptoms of his injury, and also delved into the activities he would and would not be able to do (going so far as researching positions in a waltz to determine whether or not he’d be able to dip his partner!) She detailed many ways my character could describe the pain while taking into account the time period my story takes place and the level of access to healthcare he’d have. Chelsea imparted all of this in terms that I could understand. I now feel so much more equipped to write my character’s story and cannot recommend Chelsea’s consultation service enough.”

  • “Chelsea offers a unique and valuable service to writers with her expertise. After I submitted a few details about my character, world, and an injury my character sustains during the story, Chelsea sent back a thorough list of suggestions and recommendations on how to make the injury appear as realistic as possible. I was surprised at the depth and level of detail of the feedback. Information about how the injury could happen, what it would look like, how it would feel for the character, and treatment options were all provided. The personality of the character and setting/plot limitations were also considered, giving me ideas of things to add that I probably wouldn’t have thought of on my own. This was extremely helpful information to have, since this injury is integral to my plot. I haven’t started drafting it yet, so having all this information ahead of time is going to be so valuable. This kind of information is priceless for writers who are committed to making their stories factual and realistic. Don’t just rely on beta readers for accuracy; utilize the skills and knowledge of an actual doctor and take advantage of Chelsea’s services!”
